What is a Level Two Ultrasound?
A so-called level two ultrasound is actually the same as a regular, 2D ultrasound. The sonographer just takes a more thorough look, checking for problems or issues with the fetus. It takes longer and is also referred to as a “targeted†ultrasound. Or, it may just involve sending you to a place with higher-quality equipment. The term “level two ultrasound†isn’t used that much anymore, maybe because it can cause worry.
